Beyond Transactions

Abheek’s love for his lady with the most beautiful eyes, and God were similar. In everything, his Love was spread over. The world was impregnated with the presence of his God and his Love. There was no transaction between Abheek and his Love. No transactions at all!

In the world today which is defined only by transactions – give and take. People do one thing in return to another. It’s like mutual favours matching. The life loses its depth in such transactional scheme of things. Always there is a condition attached to everything. The situation is driven by self importance and the selfishness.

But in this state of immense love, Abheek has lost his individuality. He doesn’t exist anymore. Only what exists is his Love and his God. Neither God nor his Love talks to him. Neither of them reciprocates to him. But then those return transactions or acknowledgements doesn’t mean anything.

For Abheek, he himself doesn’t exist. He is one with his Love. It is just She. It is just God. And Nothing else. He takes care of Her memories. And most importantly he meditates in her Love. He sees her eyes in the dawn, feels her breath in the wind, sees her smile in the sunshine. The whole creation is She and She is the whole creation. Abheek doesn’t exist anywhere. What exists is His Love.

The Love overflows his heart and touches everything around and blesses his entire life. He expresses his heartiest gratitude to God for enabling him to express Him through his Love, his work, and his duties!

There is such darkness, pain, fear, anger hatred, jealousy, ego and anxieties all around. In this bloody ocean, Abheek’s Devotion to God and Her helps him from getting drowned! He is lifted up from all the miseries and he basis in the grace of Love and Devotion. For him being able to Love Her is a skilful art that he had been practising for 15 years now. He is becoming real good in that!

Today Abheek has his heart filled with Love for Divine and expression of the Divine through his Lady with the Most Beautiful eyes. He uses that nectar of the heart filled love to write and share it with her. He just wants to make her know how Special She is! How Precious She is! Writing about her is like Puja to Abheek!

‘Love you Vibha!’ Sighed Abheek as he prostrated in front of the Great Statue of Bahubali in that moonlight night!

Scientific modelling of macro and micro

Relating to the world in terms of a scientific model is something that appealed Abheek immensely. This attitude was about relating to the life, it’s events, and contents as a conceptual model, devoid of the stickiness of personalities, attachments or repulsion. This is about replacing the subjects with entities, events and actions as processes, results as intermediate states of the state machine. It is about focusing on discovering the scientific law the determines how the world works.

This pursuit can be taken up both in micro level and macro level. In the micro level it is about individual cases and the nuances of the entities, processes and their interactions. In macro level it is about the direction, pattern and strategy in which the bigger groups operate.

In both the cases, there is a specific neutrality and scientific dispassion involved. That helps to see the inherent morality and the right way to act. That is termed as Dharma in the Hindu Philosophy.

This attitude is universal irrespective of the domain or case in which it is applied. In the business context when dealing with individuals in the micro level the leader deals with the entities with specific social needs, their strengths, and handles situations with respect to the various models of conflict resolutions, communication theory etc. Similarly when a leader operates on the process level, every project has specific conceptual entities like team, schedule, stakeholders and she sees them interacting as per some conceptual framework. In macro level the CEO sees the market trends, the org structure, financial performance and the future towards which she needs to drive the organisation.

No matter it is micro or macro, the thing that drives the life is a deep centric scientific attitude which is dispassionate and focussed. There is no place for selfishness, self preservation, emotional attachment or repulsion. It is about being part of the whole and being part of the eternal game.

That is the reason research finds that academicians, and researchers have a greater degree of happiness and overall life satisfaction. That goes very well to explain why most of the housewives and family people are distressed. Being so emotionally attached to their ego, attachment or repulsion with their kith and kin, they always lose the opportunity for such dispassionate scientific analysis or synthesis. No wonder most of the humans (almost all) in any domain, who have been able to do anything novel and important had been either single, or a recluse, or detached from their day to day bindings of their physical, emotional, and familial distractions. From pure science, to politics, to cookery, to art, music or any domain you see. The same pattern recurs over and over again.

Abheek was wondering why then so many people are so attached to what makes them deludedly intoxicated in short term, without giving them the long term peace and joy! Why still there are people who think relationships, money, power, etc such extrinsic goals will ever make them happy! When the need is to develop that sharp scientific mindset and build a discipline of handling anything and everything right here and now with scientific precision of models, most of the humanity is busy indulging with their immediate short term attraction to physical and emotional relaxation.

It is probably the law of nature. Water always flows from high level to low level. So does humanity. We are always pulled to our primordial mundane animal nature! The nature that the Lion King names – ‘Hakunamatata’. It is that pleasurable and carefree state where the lion King Simba finds it gratifying living on muggers and worms. He shuns his bigger responsibilities. It is not just about cowardice and laziness. More importantly it is an inability to scientifically model the micro and the macro.

The All pervading Truth

God is everywhere. In fact this world has nothing but God. Every nuke and corner is just God. God is just wearing the garb of Prakriti – nature. God is enveloped in the matter. In humans that God is hidden by mind, emotions, thoughts, body. He is hidden as well as expressed by these aspects of nature.

I like an eternal servant of God in complete servitude try to always search God in everything and anything. God shows up to me as concepts, difficult hidden theories, models, patterns, new knowledge, a hidden framework on how things, people, countries, planet, galaxies work – That Hidden Way.

I love when someone teaches me a hidden model of motivation theory that aligns most of the people around. I get mesmerized when I discover the hidden beautiful pattern in which life shows up. The waves, the wind, the stars, the seasons, the planets, the galaxies, the ant, the caterpillar, the dawn, the dusk, the murderer, the rapist, the robber, the lover, the charmer, the tricker, the leader, the follower, the victim, the owner, the music, the painting, the sculpture, the Physics, the Mathematics, the Chemistry, the Economics, the Sociology, the Political Science, the electronics, the mechanical engineering, the third law of Thermodynamics, the History of English Literature, the Sanskrit Grammar…!! Yes – All of that is God to me.

I strive to look beyond the gross matter – starkly visible. To search for that next level of the Invisible Truth. That is visible only to the seer. For God is no cheap thing! He does not show himself to one and all. To see Him, is needed a trained eye. To experience His presence is needed a seasoned self, who has toiled for years mastering that domain through which he realizes that God – within the bubbling liquid in the test tube, and the colorful rings of the Saturn. You need training, hard work, relentless toil and that patience to go deep within the domain and then you get that glimpse of the omnipresent and invisible.

The specific discipline, the area of study, the domain is not important. It can be anything. Just anything. From the domain to be able to make the perfect tea, to being able to do that perfect Takeoff in the big jumbo jet. That precise cut of the knife by the butcher, to that weird chemistry of the hormones, anger, hatred, melancholy, and lack of creativity in the rapist, to that tapestry of grace holding up that true sage! It turns me on to know the Truth! To know what actually makes up the gross reality. What are those exact financial parameter in the cash flow report that makes the smartest CEO sweat and layoff thousands of people. How those people react and what are the those invisible forces that operate and how one becomes a hero and the other a victim!

It is enlightening to see how slippery and illusory is the glimpse of God. Just one element missed, or just one small disturbance in the delicate balance mutates from that pure devotion to that impure lust. How that undaunting spirit of selfless service just dis-integrates to narrow selfish pursuits! How that magnanimous spirit of patriotism, degenerates into the suffocating trenches of constricted nationalism. My heart sinks seeing that one small aberration makes God disappear out from the sight! And only the layer of dust is visible, covering His eternal presence!

Again it appears to me is that may be these distractions, these out scaffolding covering the Eternal Truth has a purpose. They hold the path to the God! It is only dealing these scaffolding, one can climb on floor at a time, and reach the pinnacle of the summit of the Truth! For only when the heart is truly broken, can it really understand what is Love. For the orphan only knows what it is to have a parent. For the thirsty only knows the blessing of a drop of water.

Life fascinates me. In all it forms, every moment it shoots up a challenge infront of me to see that God. There was this guy in my city who made the video of the astronaut doing moonwalk, around the moon craters, which were potholes on the roads of Bangalore! To him, a pothole gave him the inspiration of the crater of the moon! And a form of art was born. It was witty. It was wacky. But was not it so ingenuous! Was not it such a superior response as compared to others who just crib about the roads? There was a choreography, there was a concept, there was a drone taking the photo. There was an impeccable art performance in that small clip of video!

In the end of the day, what I have here and now – my training, my collected knowledge base, my thinking faculty, my little world, my life circumstances! And the task is to discover God using that tool set that I have. For Upanishads proclaim God is everywhere. God is the only One that exist. There is nothing else apart from Him. All that appears devoid of him is just lifeless matter – gross junk. Rather it is that this junk stands on the substratum of God – everywhere, every time! It just needs a little will, a little focus, and a little devotion to look through the dust, and discover the Beautiful Presence!

I get reminded of of Blake! Who could so succinctly summarize this simple but so profound Truth! And the most profound are the last two lines!

Auguries of Innocence

To see a World in a Grain of Sand, And a Heaven in a Wild Flower

Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand, And Eternity in an hour!

He who Doubts from what he sees, Will never Believe do what you Please

If the Sun & Moon should Doubt , They would immediately Go out

To be in a Passion you Good may Do, But no Good if a Passion is in you

Every Night & every Morn, Some to Misery are Born

Every Morn and every Night, Some are Born to sweet delight

Some are Born to sweet delight, Some are Born to Endless Night

We are led to Believe a Lie, When we see not Thro the Eye

Which was Born in a Night to perish in a Night, When the Soul Slept in Beams of Light

God Appears & God is Light, To those poor Souls who dwell in Night

But does a Human Form Display, To those who Dwell in Realms of day

– BY WILLIAM BLAKE

Yes, it is so True! to see God, we don’t need the realms of the day. For God is Light and God Appears! Even in the Night!

Thank you God for being there! With that ever increasingly difficult puzzle thrown on the face! For you challenge me – to just close my eyes, and drown in the deluge of your presence – Right here and now!

Love you God!
